Large Jars from Ancient Japan
Unique characteristics of large vessels from various Japanese regions between the 10th and 16th centuries.
There large jars are from SUZU, BIZEN, ECHIZEN, TANBA, SETO, TOKONAME, and SANAGE.
Each piece leaves a different impression—some are reddish-brown, some feel heavy and powerful, while others have elegant, refined lines.
(Large jars were essential tools in daily life, used to store water, rice, and grains at that time.)
In Tokoname, teapots have been crafted since the 1820s. As a teapot shop, we are excited to share this history with you🍵
