This news from NHK shows first tea auction / trading (bidding) of the year which took place on April 18, 2022 in Fukuoka, Saga and Shizuoka, Japan.
All said that tea leaves this year is very good because of good weather.

Those tea leaves (Ara-cha - half processed) traded in the markets are processed (blend and dry etc) by the buyer (tea company / tea shop) then sold for consumers.
It said that a kind of Shizuoka Temomi Cha (Hand rolling Tea - thin needle shape) was bought with price 1,968,000 JPY / 1 kg (highest record).
