Jinshu (Ito Seiji) has been making this Gokuhira Kyusu (Flatform Teapot) for 15 years and continues to refine its design. He says that even today, new discoveries still emerge during the making process, revealing opportunities for refinement he had not recognized before.

With its shallow, flat shape, wide lid, and specially designed filter, this kyusu takes more skill and time to produce than a conventional deeper, rounded teapot.

Every detail is approached with great care, and even after 15 years of making this model, Ito Seiji still considers it a challenging piece to complete.
