Takatori Hassen  Cup

Aritst:  Takatori Hassen  XIII (13th generation) -  born in 1934

Tasteful cup - style is based on Japanese Tea Ceremony. 
Wabi-sabi, which means rustic, old, simple, aged which you can see those beauty in real nature.

As you appreciate this cup, you see the nature in this cup. Everytime you see it, you find something new. 

Takatori-yaki is known as high grade tea ceremony ware. Since it was started producing tea ceremony ware for the power 17th century.

Hassen XIII's is well known for artist for tea ceremony ware. This small cup has the same beauty and value of  tea ceremony ware. Thick glazing shows the color of the glazing well, and  make the cup look soft. 

This cup has 2 different glazing applied.
The technique of art is called “kake-wake”

Literally, 掛 "Kake" means apply (glazing), 分" wake" means separately.

掛分(kakewake) is : 2 different glazing is applied.

This art technique is seen Takatori-yaki often.

Takatori Hassen Kiln is located in a village of Fukuoka prefecture, the kiln started in 17th century, produces Japanese tea ceremony ware.
