Umehara Soukou Red Clay Thin Body Teapot 宗弘 （Made in Tokoname Japan）

This teapot was made approx. 20-40 years ago. Artist Sokou was retired and no longer making teapot.

Beautiful and Elegant shape and details.  Soukou's teapot is graceful and noble.

Beautifully crafted body, elegant even without lid (when open the lid).
Back side (foot) is well crafted.

Glow of the teapot is soft and graceful. This is unglazed, the glow is come from polishing the surface of the teapot.

Smooth texture, it tells quality of the clay.

Thin body. Good water flow.

Soukou was called "Master of Rokuro" 
(Master of potter's wheel)
