Takatori Hassen Kiln Sousen 高取八仙 宗仙  HS11

Aritst:  Takatori Hassen  XIII (13th generation) -  born in 1934

This small cup features a landscape reminiscent of a snow-covered rocky mountain on the front, while the reverse side evokes the quiet beauty of a snowy scene.

The warm reddish clay body is coated with HASSEN's soft, milky-white straw ash glaze. The gentle variations and flowing patterns of the glaze create a natural landscape, while the subtle throwing marks visible beneath add quiet character to the piece. The harmony between the clay and the glaze gives the cup a simple, natural beauty.

The milky-white glaze is HASSEN's original straw ash glaze, made from burned straw. Applied in a thin layer, it allows the texture of the clay to remain present in the hand, offering a soft, natural feel. The subtle variations in the glaze invite a calm and unhurried tea experience.
