Kokeshi are traditional wooden dolls from northern Japan. They are simple in shape, with a round head and a straight body, and are usually hand-painted.

In the Tohoku region, where kokeshi come from, there is a strong wood culture. People have long used local trees to make everyday items and crafts. Kokeshi reflect this tradition, showing the skills of artisans and the beauty of natural wood.

You can use as wrapping cloth for tea ware, or you can use as place mat for tea time.
