Teapot Lid Holder Rest Mishima Stamp Art Dram (Futaoki) 三嶋蓋置
This is a lid rest used in Chado (Tea Ceremony) for placing the lid of the chagama (or iron kettle).
Adorned with soft purple and pink floral patterns, it brings a gentle elegance to your tea table. The shape resembles a traditional drum called tsuzumi, used in Japanese court music, gagaku, evoking a sense of graceful refinement.
The piece features the traditional "Mishima" design—a decorative stamping art technique named after the Mishima Koyomi, a calendar once published by the Mishima Grand Shrine. The intricate patterns resemble the printed characters of that historic calendar.
Having a designated place for your lid is both practical and hygienic.
Beyond function, this lid rest serves as a subtle artistic accent that enhances the beauty of your tea space.
