Kongō Ishimenuri is a unique lacquerware technique developed in 1924 by the first-generation artisan Konin.
This method uses high-quality sand mixed with lacquer to create a special undercoating （ sand ground technique）, forming a highly durable and water-resistant foundation.

By carefully applying multiple layers of lacquer, each piece is finished with a deep, elegant luster. Kongō Ishimenuri is Intangible Cultural Property of Shizuoka Prefecture.
