Haisen- Black Lacquer Cup Wash Bowl in old time of Japan.
At the old time of banquet, Japanese has custom to exchange cups and drink sake. After drinking sake with a cup, wash it in the bowl and give it to other person.
This black lacquer bowl must have been used at a rich family or high grade banquet.
Lacquer with Chinkin (Gold-inlaid Lacquer Ware) is high grade item and expensive.

This wash bowl can be used as decoration of tea room or you can wash cups or finger in the bowl. You can use as a vase.
It is gorgeous. It has small damage on surface as seen in the photo. But it keeps the beauty as an object.
