A scene from the ukiyo-e print Snow at Kanbara is rendered in white against a green clay body. Set against the subdued green, the figures traveling through Kanbara—an old post town on the Tōkaidō as it appeared around 200 years ago—stand out with striking clarity. Such coloring is rare among Tokoname teapots, making this piece especially beautiful and distinctive.

The teapot is delicately thin-walled, with a smooth surface and a perfectly fitted lid.
