Heart Sutra (般若心経)

The Heart Sutra is one of the most important texts in Mahayana Buddhism. It is a concise scripture that summarizes the essence of the Perfection of Wisdom (Prajnaparamita) teachings. The sutra emphasizes the concept of emptiness (śūnyatā), stating that all phenomena are empty of inherent existence. It famously includes the phrase "form is emptiness, emptiness is form," highlighting the interdependent and impermanent nature of all things. Despite its brevity, the Heart Sutra is deeply profound and is widely recited in Buddhist practices.

Sixteen Arhats (十六羅漢図)

The Sixteen Arhats are a group of enlightened disciples of the Buddha who have attained Nirvana. In Buddhist art, they are often depicted as guardians of the Buddha's teachings. Each arhat has unique characteristics and attributes, and they are revered for their wisdom and spiritual accomplishments. The Sixteen Arhats are commonly depicted in paintings, sculptures, and other forms of art, symbolizing the protection and perpetuation of the Buddha's teachings.
