This wood-fired White Shell kyusu by Yamada Sou features a glaze that creates complex flows of color across its surface.
One side is finished with a quiet white glaze, highlighting its simple texture and understated character. The other reveals layered textures, shell marks, and subtle variatios of color formed during the wood-firing process.
Its organic form and naturally occurring surface patterns evoke a sense of harmony with nature, making it unique.

Sou Yamada is a grandson of Jozan Yamada the 3rd, who was recognized by the Japanese government as Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) .
