Kodo Yoshikawa – Hand-Engraved Red Clay Teapot “People of the Nations”

This elegant teapot is crafted from fine red clay and engraved by master artist Kodo Yoshikawa with tasteful and historically significant imagery.

The figures carved on the teapot are based on 16th-century Painting. They depict people as seen by a Japanese monk who traveled to China during that time to study Zen and painting.

Kodo’s engraving technique is extremely delicate and detailed. His mastery has been officially recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Tokoname City.
