Yamada Sou Blue Kyusu Teapot for 山田想淡藍
Blue body with wood fired effect are very harmonious with white Shigaraki clay.
This teapot features a rich and thick glaze applied to its body.
The flowing glaze comes into contact with the table, so that bottom is slightly enven but stable enough as you can find in the photo. Rich glaze is adding a distinctive charm.
The body is thin and light. Water flow from spout is smooth.
The Yamada families have been producing teapots in 5 generations. Sou Yamada is a grandson of Jozan Yamada the 3rd, who was recognized by the Japanese government as Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) .
