The KOSHIN Black Red Marble Teapot is an exceptionally artistic and unique creation.

The marble pattern is created using seaweed from the Sea of Chita Peninsula, near Tokoname City, where the teapot is crafted.

Production Process:

  1. The artist first shapes a teapot from red clay.
  2. Seaweed is bound to the clay and fired to create the marble pattern.
  3. The teapot is then fired in reduction, giving it a smoky black-red marble finish.

The result is a harmonious blend of red and black, with a traditional, dignified, and striking presence.

Unique Qualities of Smoked Red Clay: Under low light, the body appears a deep brown, while in brighter light, it reveals a reddish-brown hue. This shifting appearance offers varied impressions depending on lighting.

Smoked red clay adds a layered depth, creating a sense of richness.

Three Textures in One Teapot:

  1. The lid and handle are highly polished, giving them a glossy, smooth finish like real marble.
  2. The body has a sandy texture, known in Japan as "Pine Tree Peel," which resembles the feel of iron teapots.
  3. The foot has a smooth natural texture.

This teapot offers a rich tactile experience and superb water flow, making it truly special.
